May "Mizutama-Lepputai" and "$10" or"THE GEAR TRANCE 4" (= the dance unit of Mizutama-Lepputai & $10)

Do you know Japanese comedy, performance and entertainment?
If you were interested in Japan, you would probably have heard about "KABUKI","BUNRAKU","RAKUGO"
and so on... They have been in existence as Japanese culture since old times.
"MANZAI" is also one of Japanese culture. In English, it is called "comic duologue."
It is performance or entertainment that two persons as a team stand side by side on stage and talk with them.
That's duologue. And two persons who do that have been called "MANZAI-SHI".
So both "Mizutama-Lepputai" and "$10" are "MANZAI-SHI".
Public entertainments, especially show business world in Japan, "Yoshimoto Kogyo" Co.Ltd. is one of the most
famous offices to manage show business. It has been in Osaka where is the most vigorous city in show business world.
Recently, it has played comedy in New York and Los Angeles.
Furthermore, it as Yoshimoto U.S.A. has cooperated with Outrigger Entertainment in show business.
They have played the entertainment dinner show named "YES International" in Hawaii.
Moreover, it has expanded its TV entertainment business in Asia such as Hong Kong and Shanghai.
Both "Mizutama-Lepputai" and "$10" belong to Yoshimoto Kogyo.
In 1999, Yoshimoto Kogyo will produce new entertainment show featuring "Mizutama-Lepputai" and "$10"
as dance performance and entertainment unit named "THE GEAR TRANCE 4".
They will make revolution in Japanese traditional entertainment or comedy show.
Someday, They may show you their entertainment in not
only Japan but also somewhere in the world... and
you may get a chance to see "Mizutama-Lepputai" and "$10"!

About Mizutama-Lepputai

Mizutama-Lepputai are made up ARAKI Yoshiaki(=left) and MATSUTANI Kenji(=right). |
And they are called AKI & KEN. Why do they named "Mizutama-Lepputai"?
For they love polka dots and they are like a strong wind.
In Japanese, Mizutama means a polka dot and Leppu does a strong wind.
NHK and ABC awarded them Japan comedy contests for new or young comedians.
They are entertaining or performing now on a stage in Japan.
So, they have been reported on several magazines recently.
Mizutama-Lepputai polish up and show their action, and they get an original and a fantastic idea.
Those are characters of them. On the stage, mainly they stand side by side and they have duologue.
What they talk each other is marvelous and wonderful by their own idea. And when we watch and
listen to their duologue, we would feel not only funny but also happy. They talk against our
expectations with their smiles.
Additionally, they show and fascinate a funny and beautiful action and dance that they have
learned for a long time.
Please have an experience of their stage that holds the happening and dynamic comedy world
by Mizutama-Lepputai.
Mizutama-Lepputai keep performing live mainly in Tokyo and Osaka, JAPAN.

$10 (called "Ten-Dollar") are made up SHIRAKAWA Satomi(=left) and HAMAMOTO Hiroaki(=right). |
They are old friends and are junior to Mizutama-Lepputai.
And HAMAMOTO is much more junior to SHIRAKAWA.
Their name,"$10" is called not ten-dollars but "ten-dollar".
Why do they make call? To tell the truth, there is no reason to be done.
They were nominated Japan comedy contests by NHK and ABC for new or young comedians.
Regrettably, they have not awarded. But now, they win a reputation by their efforts.
They are also entertaining or performing now on a stage in Japan.
And we hope that they will be awarded Japan comedy contest in future.
On the stage, mainly they stand side by side and they have duologue.
Duologue of $10 is constructed by their consideration and by training with their persistent efforts.
When we watch and listen to their duologue, we would feel that it is just like a story or a novel.
Because not only they talk each other but also they sometimes use effective sounds.
So the more they talk, the more their story deepen. To add to duologue of $10, their action
based their dance is one of high point on their stage.
Please have an experience of their stage that holds the strange and funny comedy world by $10.
$10 keep performing live mainly in Osaka and Tokyo, JAPAN.
